Dr. Brittany Davis, LCSWA is an Assistant Professor in the online Master of Social Work program at Alliant International University. Dr. Davis obtained her PhD in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. She obtained her MSW degree from the University of Michigan with a focus in Community Organization with Children, Youth, and Families. Her research interests include equitable development strategies for historically low-income communities of color, bridging homeownership disparities among residents of color, the sociocultural impacts of gentrification on Black communities, and anti-racist social work pedagogy. Her experiences in the field of social work include working with children and families with a history of child abuse and neglect, serving as a children’s crisis counselor, providing community services at a public housing site, providing counseling for youth and families involved with the juvenile justice system, serving as a workforce development specialist, serving as a licensed clinical social worker associate, and providing case management services to homeless students and their families. She has also served as a social work field supervisor for MSW and BSW students. Additionally, she has taught a wide range of MSW and BSW courses for multiple universities.
