Are you a credential holder looking to step into an administrative or a leadership role? The online Arizona administrative certification program can take you from being a PK-12 educator to an educational leader.
Designed with opportunities to engage in field experiences, collaborative professional learning, and a coaching-based, theory-to-practice approach, our administrative certificate program includes research-based practices to align with the requirements of the Arizona Department of Education.
Up to 9 units may be applied to the EdD in educational leadership and management.

Arizona Department of Education-Aligned Program
The administrative certification program is Arizona Department of Education-aligned, so you’ll be prepared to demonstrate your knowledge and school leadership skills during Principal Subtests I and II. This customized educator certification test measures a candidate's knowledge and skills in relation to Arizona learning standards. The administrative certification program is offered entirely online, and courses are designed to train you in the vital aspects of PK-12 educational administration. The online administrative certification program gives you a quality education with the flexibility to complete your certification from the location of your choice.
Focused and Versatile
The online administrative services credential is a 30-unit program that can be completed in as little as one year. You can also transfer up to 20% of units from the ASC program into a EdD in Educational Leadership and Management degree.

How long does it take to complete the program?
The administrative certification program is a 30-unit program and takes as little as one year to complete.
What is the modality of this program?
The administrative services credential program is offered entirely online. All classes and coursework can be completed virtually, allowing you to tailor your professional learning and education to your schedule.
What are the administrator exam passing requirements?
A candidate must meet the scoring requirements on the following exams, administered through the Arizona Department of Education.
- Principal Exam: A passing score on the Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessment (AEPA) Principal Subtests I and II exam (AZ181 and AZ281); -OR-
- Superintendent Exam: A passing score on the Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessment (AEPA) Superintendent Subtest I and II exam (AZ180 and AZ280); -OR-
- Administrative Experience: Verification of three (3) years of full-time experience as an administrator in any state, including Arizona.
- Note: Experience as an administrator in a foreign school will not be accepted; -OR-
- Comparable Exam: A passing score on a similar Administrator exam from another state. Submit an official score report and have reporting state complete and submit Verification of Out of State Exams.
- Note: If you took a Praxis exam, submit a copy of the exam score report request that your scores be reported to the state of Arizona 8517, in place of the Verification of Out of State Exam form.
