John and Jacquie on their wedding day.

Two students who met while attending Alliant International University in San Diego held their wedding on the campus that brought them together.

Psychology Doctoral Students John Helmer and Jacquie Corvan felt like they "owed a lot" to the university where they met. So, they decided to commemorate the importance of the school in their lives by celebrating their union as husband and wife there.

Holding the wedding on campus gives them a chance to share the sense of belonging they felt at their university with those most important to them.

The wedding was held at Alliant’s San Diego campus in the neighborhood of Scripps Ranch on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The couple celebrated with their friends and family, as well as with the fellow Alliant students and faculty who have had a meaningful impact on their lives.

This is a clear example of how a student’s educational experience can have a life-changing impact that extends far beyond academics.
