Fresno, CA. (June 13, 2023) - The Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling (MACC) Program in the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University is pleased to host the first-ever Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC) Spring Gathering in Fresno, California. This exciting event is an opportunity for local LPCCs to network and meet other mental health counselors and students in the Central Valley region.

The Spring Gathering will take place at 5:00 PM PST on Friday, June 16th at the Piccadilly Inn Airport, located at 5115 E McKinley Ave, Fresno, CA. Pre-registration is required for attendance. Live attendance through Zoom is also an option, and pre-registration is available here for members, here for non-members, and here for virtual attendees. The event is sponsored by the MACC Program, Alpha Iota Upsilon chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, Counseling International Honor Society, Alliant Alumni Relations, and the California Association of Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC.)

The gathering includes scheduled speeches from Kenneth Edwards, Executive Director of CALPCC, and Dr. Kristen Curry, Assistant Professor MACC Program Alliant. Additionally, the student

Executive Leadership Team of AIU-CSI will offer a Speed Networking activity. Through these engagements, attendees will be actively encouraged to learn more about membership in CALPCC, AIU-CSI, and other opportunities at Alliant International University.

“Counselors here in California’s Central Valley region are in demand and often work long hours in isolation. Due to work and other factors, many therapists forget to prioritize connecting and consulting with other mental health professionals,” said Dr. David Paul, system-wide director of Alliant’s clinical counseling programs. “This event is designed to help LPCCs catch up with friends, colleagues and local organizations while building a network of professional support.

Alliant’s California School of Professional Psychology has consistently been awarded with top accreditation and elite faculty members, helping to give graduate students the best education possible. CSPP offers degrees in general psychology, organizational psychology, educational psychology, counseling psychology, and more, and first and foremost aims to bridge the gap between mental and physical health.
