Alliant International University was named to the 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools ® for the fourth consecutive year. The 2014 Military Friendly Schools ® list honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students, ensuring their success on campus.
“Inclusion on the 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools ® shows Alliant’s commitment to providing a personalized and supportive environment for military students,” said Tina Moncada, director of Military and Veterans Affairs and ten-year Air Force veteran.
The 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools ® is based on extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 10,000 VA-approved schools nationwide. The survey results were independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the methodology, criteria and weighting established by Victory Media.
Each year, schools taking the survey are held to a higher standard than the previous year via improved methodology, criteria and weightings developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board consisting of educators from schools across the country.
Alliant’s renewed presence on the list reflects its continued commitment to supporting the military. Military benefits at Alliant include course credit equivalency for military training, financial support, a student veteran organization, an on-campus psychological counseling center, a health center and a career center. In addition to offering the Yellow Ribbon program, Alliant has created an annual $5000 scholarship to benefit qualified undergraduate military students.
The Military Friendly Schools ® list is compiled annually by Victory Media, a media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. Victory Media has led the industry as a ratings entity for more than a decade, surveying tens of thousands of institutions and adjudicating lists that capture best practices in recruitment and retention of military personnel as students, civilian employees and franchisees.
