Congratulations Nnenna Ndika, Clinical Psychology PhD Student

Nnenna Ndika, a student in the Clinical Psychology PhD Program at the Fresno campus, has been awarded the Dr. Jeffrey W. Braunstein Memorial Scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year. 

Prior to coming to Alliant, Nnenna earned two degrees in Nigeria: a master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Lagos, and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Benin. She is originally from Nigeria and completed an Independent Study course entitled “Mental Health in Nigerian Immigrants” in the summer of 2011. 

Earlier this year, Nnenna's paper "Within a Collectivistic Culture" was accepted for publication in The International Journal of Humanities Education. 

Nnenna has served as an Assistant Lecturer for a class at Fresno State University entitled “Diversity in America” and is currently an adjunct faculty member at University of Phoenix. This March, Nnenna completed her dissertation, entitled “A Standardization Study: Acculturation and Mental Health among Nigerian Immigrants in America.” Her APA-accredited internship placement this year is at Fresno City College’s Psychological Services Department, and she expects to graduate in 2013 after her internship is complete.
