Alliant International University Supports Veterans and the Military through Yellow Ribbon Program
San Diego, CA - Alliant International University is proud to announce its support of the military community through continued participation in Department of Veterans' Affairs (VA) Yellow Ribbon Program. A provision of the VA Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33), the Yellow Ribbon Program provides qualified recipients and their dependants with tuition and fee benefits up to $17,500 annually, plus matching of all additional funding provided by Alliant. Each of Alliant's five schools across its six California campuses will take part in the program for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program is a key component of Alliant's Military Affairs Program (MAP), which includes a Student Veterans Organization (SVO), a military-specific resource section on their website, and an ongoing military awareness training program.
Considered a "Military Friendly School" by GI Jobs magazine (2010), Alliant also ranks top among private, not-for-profit, accredited universities in California on the Best for Vets: Colleges 2010 list published by Military Times EDGE magazine. Both honors are a clear recognition of Alliant's commitment to the military community.
"I am proud to be associated with a university committed to helping service members and their families continue to make an impact in our world through education," Tina Moncada, USAF veteran, director of military affairs.
