Alliant International University is seeking a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with outstanding leadership and financial acumen. The CFO will serve as a senior member of the administration, working with the President and his leadership team to develop and implement financial plans, oversee several administrative areas and assure the highest standards of integrity in all aspects of financial management.

Strategy Serve as a business partner to the President, Provost, Officers and Deans to assess organizational performance against the annual budget and business goals. Develop long-range strategies and solutions to complex resource issues that cross functional areas, and provide guidance to optimize resources and minimize risk. Develop tools and systems to provide financial and operational information for planning and decision-making by the President and senior leadership team. Engage the board finance, audit and investment committees on issues, trends affecting the university. Contribute to yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and the selection and engagement of outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors, etc.). Oversee long-term budget planning and cost management in alignment with the university strategic plans, organization sponsorships, potential acquisitions and collaborations with outside organizations. Financial and Operational Management Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements; maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate audit activities. Develop and oversee financial controls for international sites. Manage the information technology program (IT) including the procurement of specialized IT systems to meet the needs of the organization; approve and direct the implementation of changes to financial and information management systems for the university. Manage cash flow and forecasting; develop reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs. Optimize banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions. Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets to monitor the progress and financial metrics both internally and externally. Team Management Hire, mentor, and develop direct reports; manage work allocation, training, problem resolution, and performance. Guide cross-divisional administrative teams outside of the direct span of control on administrative matters.

Reporting to the President, the CFO will provide strategic direction and operational management for all aspects of the univeristy's finances, information technology, business and accounting functions, auditing methods, capital planning, property management and facilities, procurement and contracting and other administrative functions.

Graduate degree in business, finance or related field; CPA preferred

Documented PC skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software

10-15 years of progressively responsible financial leadership and administrative experience, preferably in non-profits and/or higher education. Demonstrated knowledge of finance, accounting, budgetary and cost control tactics. Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting complex financial information. Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze and mitigate risk in key operational areas. Demonstrated ability to effectively recognize, analyze and resolve adverse financial or accounting situations. Deep understanding and experience with audits. Ability to be collaborative and flexible with a strong service mentality. Ability to be creative with experience funding activities in ways that cover costs and generate operating margins. Ability to recruit, retain and mentor top financial and operations management personnel.

Ability to approac situations and challenges with a sense of humor and professionalism. Proven desire to work with a diverse workforce. Travel Required.
