Undergraduate Application Components & Requirements

 

Domestic Students

It is important that you provide all the necessary documents so that the Office of Admissions can process your application for admission to Alliant International University. Please check the following list to make sure you have included everything needed for your application:

  1. A completed application.
  2. Official transcripts:
    • High School Students and/or students who have earned  less than 24 college units: An official High School Transcript as well as official transcripts from all colleges attended that should be considered for the transfer credit evaluation
    • Students who have earned 24 or more college units: An official high school graduation date as well as official transcripts from all colleges attended that should be considered for the transfer credit evaluation
  3. A nonrefundable application fee of $65.
  4. The minimum grade point average (GPA) requirement for undergraduate admission is a cumulative of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

International Students

It is important that you provide all the necessary documents in order to process your application for admission as an international student to Alliant International University. Please check the following list to make sure you have included everything needed for your enrollment:

  1. A completed application.
  2. A nonrefundable application fee of $65.
  3. You must submit official, translated transcripts and results from an educational credential evaluation service agency for all high schools and colleges attended. The evaluation must include US semester credit and grade equivalent for each course and US grade point average. To locate an agency go to: www.naces.org
  4. The minimum grade point average (GPA) requirement for undergraduate admission is a cumulative of 2.0 on a 4.0.
  5. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for non-native speakers. Students whose native language is not English are required to show English proficiency by taking the TOEFL and submitting an official test score report with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 80 (Internet-Based). If your native language is not English and your official TOEFL score is 549/212/79 (Internet-Based) or lower, or you have not taken the TOEFL, you will be required to take the University's English Proficiency Examination. Alliant also requires a minimum score of 5 or higher on the TWE. Some programs may require higher scores. To check on the specific requirements of the academic program to which you are applying, please call 1-866-UALLIANT or check the admissions section of our website, www.alliant.edu/admissions. Please contact TOEFL directly to request an official score report; Alliant’s TOEFL code is 4039.
  6. Complete the Undergraduate Financial Certification Form - (PDF), and provide an original bank letter showing cash availability and/or letter of sponsorship, as appropriate in your case. No photocopies of financial certification documents will be accepted. The form must be completed with the student's and sponsor's signature. This requirement does not apply to permanent residents (resident aliens). Students accompanied by other family members must certify additional U.S. funds per year for each dependent.
  7. A Transfer Verification Form - (PDF) (if student is presently attending an institution in the United States). DHS (Department of Homeland Security) regulations require that you maintain full-time student status while in the U.S. on a student visa.
    Note: Transfer credit will be evaluated by the Office of Admissions after admission. As a general rule, course work transferred from an accredited institution earned with a grade of "C" or better (on the Alliant International University grading scale) and comparable to the academic course work offered by Alliant International University will be eligible for transfer to the student's academic program at Alliant International University. Final official transcripts are required to prepare transfer credit evaluations.

Alliant reserves the right to require further certification of finances or advance payment of tuition and fees from students whose funds originate in countries where severe currency restrictions exist.
