The School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) at Alliant International University is a new school in an established university with a legacy of providing academic excellence. Alliant is an accredited, professional-practice university with a long history of preparing students for licensed positions. 

SNHS offers programs that align with the very latest American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials and focuses on helping you develop vital nursing competencies. It has a state-of-the-art simulation center and lab in Phoenix, Arizona, which allows for hands-on practice through small class sizes, six simulation bays, and eight clinical beds. To ensure that nursing students have all the resources to become a registered nurse practitioner, SNHS provides all necessary applications, courses, books, test preparation, etc. on an iPad Air.

SNHS nursing programs help you develop critical thinking skills and proper judgment in a clinical environment. We’re committed to delivering quality, student-centered learning experiences using a variety of instructional methods that allows those with different learning styles to succeed. Faculty facilitates learning by providing instruction using diverse methods to actively engage you in the learning process.

Programs and Degrees

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing – The bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) nursing program will provide the education and experience needed to prepare you to sit for the NCLEX exam to earn a license as a registered nurse (RN).

  • Master’s of Science in Nursing, Direct Entry – The master of science in nursing, direct entry (MSN-DE) program provides a high level of knowledge and skills, leadership training, paving the way to earn your nursing degree and RN license.
  • Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Executive – The nurse executive program prepares you to take on more responsibility, make better professional decisions, and gain valuable and much-needed business and supervisorial skills.

Mission

The mission of SNHS is to provide nursing programs that prepare graduates for professional and safe practices and promote the discovery and application of leadership and knowledge to improve people’s lives in diverse cultures and communities worldwide.

Accreditation

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing - Direct Entry, and Master of Science in Nursing - Nurse Executive programs at Alliant International School of Nursing & Health Sciences are pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (https://www.ccneaccreditation.org). Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.

About The Dean

Dr. Sherrie Palmieri, DNP, MBA, RN, CNE, NPD-BC, has recently joined Alliant as the founding dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS). Previously, she served as the national dean of faculty and professional advancement for Chamberlain University, serving over 3,000 faculty and academic colleagues. 

Dr. Palmieri also served as the executive director and dean of nursing and health professions at Southern New Hampshire University. To support her passion for nursing education and advance the nursing workforce, Dr. Palmieri maintains the following certifications: Certified Nurse Educator, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, and Nursing Professional Development Board Certified. 

Dr. Palmieri’s scholarship includes evidence-based teaching excellence, nursing recognition, and professional development programs to provide workforce solutions across academic and practice settings. Her clinical expertise is in gerontology. 

Palmieri worked with the American Nurses Association (ANA), serving as the co-author and subject matter expert to develop the ANA Gerontological Nurse Certification Review Course. She is dedicated to advancing nursing and serves as Chair for the ANA Professional Policy Committee, serves as the vice-president for Arizona Nurses Association, serves as a board member for the Arizona Organization of Nurse Leaders, and serves on the Arizona Board of Nursing Scope and Practice Committee. Dr. Palmieri also serves as a program evaluator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The Phoenix campus is conveniently located in the midtown Phoenix area near hiking trails, restaurants, museums, and other cultural attractions, so when you take a break from studying, you can explore the diverse city.  As an aspiring licensed practical nurse, you can gain practical experience while earning your degree at the Alliant nursing school in Phoenix.
