We also had a successful Alumni and Friends Reception at APA which featured remarks by Alliant Provost Dr. Russ Newman and CSPP Interim Dean Dr. Dalia Ducker. In Loving Memory of Rudy Hurwich, Long-Time CSPP Trustee

Rudy HurwichRudolph Hurwich, long-time Trustee and benefactor of CSPP/Alliant International University, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2014 at the age of 92. Rudy, as he was fondly known, served on the CSPP Board of Trustees from 1978-1992, and was Treasurer of Board from 1978-1991. His extraordinary service to the California School of Professional Psychology culminated in the honorary doctorate he received from CSPP.

Rudy and his wife, CSPP alumna Dr. Janet Hurwich, have been long-time supporters of the San Francisco campus library, which was named the Rudolph Hurwich Library in 1988. Rudy and Janet also founded the Hurwich Scholarship at Alliant in memory of their granddaughters Georgette Judith Alouf-Schulman and Basia Mimi Alouf-Schulman.

To read a beautiful article commemorating Mr. Hurwich’s extraordinary life, which also contains information about his memorial service on October 19 in Oakland, please click here. You are also cordially invited to sign the online guestbook on that page.
