"Alliant Makes a Difference Day" seeks to revitalize the Corridor Neighborhood in City Heights

San Diego, CA: Alliant International University will participate in its third annual Fall FaceLift project in conjunction with National Make a Difference Day, now in its 20th year. Volunteers from local organizations will come together to paint homes, haul trash, and revitalize a one block radius in the Corridor Neighborhood of City Heights on October 23rd, 2010. By doing this, the Alliant community hopes to promote civic engagement and serve their local community - integrating three of the school''''s pillars: professional practice, community engagement, and multicultural competence.

What: Fall 2010 FaceLift and Alliant Makes a Difference Day: a project to renovate low-income housing in conjunction with the 20th Annual National Make a Difference Day

When: October 23, 2010 - 8:00am volunteer sign-in. Light breakfast will be served

Where: Corner of Cherokee Ave. and Orange Ave. in City Heights. Parking available near site at Wilson Middle School and the Metro Career Center Parking Structure

Who: Alliant International University, Community Housing Works, the City of San Diego Redevelopment Agency, City Heights Project Area Committee, Councilmember Todd Gloria
