Alliant Designated "Military Friendly School" for the Third Year in a Row

Military Friendly Schools SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Sept. 17, 2012 Alliant International University is featured once again in GI Jobs magazine’s 2013 list of “Military Friendly Schools,” representing the top fifteen percent of undergraduate and graduate schools doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students.

The 2013 list is based on extensive research and a data driven survey of more than 12,000 VA-approved schools nationwide. The methodology, criteria and weighting for the list were developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board consisting of educators from schools across the country.  The list also incorporates a survey of student veterans from each of the participating schools.

“The ‘Military Friendly Schools’ list is considered the gold standard in terms of educational opportunity, flexibility and support  for service members, veterans, spouses and dependents,” says Tina Moncada, director of the Military and Veterans Program at Alliant International University.

Alliant’s renewed presence on the list reflects its continued commitment to supporting the military.  Military benefits at Alliant include course credit equivalency for military training, financial support, a student veteran organization, an on-campus psychological counseling center, a health center and a career center. In addition to offering the Yellow Ribbon program, Alliant has created a $5000/yr award to benefit undergraduate military students who don’t qualify for Yellow Ribbon.
