1.Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets

2.Assist in ongoing monitoring of budgets and devising corrective action plans to ensure budget objectives are achieved

3.Assists the Office of the Provost in providing input, analysis and updates to the Deans of each school

4.Provide support to senior management regarding budgeting and reporting issues relative to program contribution, overhead allocation, and operating metrics

5.Provides analysis and guidance on proposed programs, certificates, institutes, and program expansions

6.Provides competitor analysis and benchmark the University’s academic performance internally and externally

7.Facilitates decision making  through the development of financial and analytical models using internal and external data

8.Coordinates with the Office of the Provost, Deans, CFO, and Program Directors in the development of financial models for new program initiatives

9.Assists the Provost Office in the development and implementation of the University’s Academic Strategic planning and performance management process

10.Provides management reports to senior management for specific areas as assigned and analyze variances to budget

11.Other duties as required by the Office of the Provost, Deans, and Chief Financial Officer

The Senior Financial Analyst, under the direction of the Provost’s Budget Office, will provide academic financial and analytical support to the Deans and Senior Management members.  The successful candidate will assist the Provost’s Office, Deans, and CFO in providing guidance to and review of the academic financial affairs of the University. Assist Senior Management to translate the elements of the academic strategic plan into financial and operational components and in setting goals and targets for operational and financial performance. Periodically assess risks and identify areas of opportunity to help attain the University’s financial goals.  



Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent.

Experience with complex, integrated business software systems, CARS/Jenzebar and Hyperion experience preferred. Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) and 10-key by touch.

Experience with developing complex financial models.

Minimum four- six year’s prior finance experience, preferably in a University setting. Demonstrated competence of forecasting, financial modeling, cost analysis, budgeting and general accounting principles with strong analytical and problem solving capabilities. Strong interpersonal, written and presentation skills. Demonstrated experience interacting with Senior Management.
